It turns out all those keen Victorian anglers, bless their cotton socks, chip in for the Fishcare program when they grab their fishing licences. And what do we get for their generosity, you ask? Well, it means this little gem of an event is happening.

Basically, it is a chance for anyone – kids, adults, or those who just like the idea of holding a rod – to come down for some free, hands-on fun. They will teach you the ropes of fishing, like how to cast without hooking yourself, and all about being a good sport in our waterways. It is all about learning how to enjoy our rivers and oceans responsibly, and hopefully, maybe even catch something that isn't just a cold.
