School Holiday Workshop by Wishart Creative is basically a chance for kids aged eight and up to take a perfectly good pair of jeans, a jacket, or a bag and turn it into something that might make their grandparents raise an eyebrow. They get fabric paints, Posca pens, and a suspicious amount of sparkle to work with, so expect denim that glitters like a disco ball at a country fair. It is hands on, which means the paint will probably end up on fingers, sleeves, and possibly the floor, but that is half the fun. The workshop runs on 8 July from 10 am to 1 pm at Wishart Creative, which lives at 132 Little Malop Street in Geelong. Tickets are 65 bucks per child, or 130 if you have an under eight year old who needs an adult to tag along presumably to stop them eating the paint or running off with the Posca pens. Spots are limited, so if you want in, you will need to move quickly. Also, bring a nut free packed lunch because nobody wants an allergic reaction interrupting the glitter application.
