Barwon Coast is getting together with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation for a bit of a dawn stroll and some cultural goodness to mark NAIDOC Week 2025. If you're up for an early start on Monday 7 July, meet at the Barwon Heads end of Bukareeyoo (yep, that's the spot formerly known as 20W) around 7.30am. It's a family-friendly way to soak in some Wadawurrung culture without having to read a textbook. You'll catch a Welcome to Country, a didgeridoo performance that might just rattle your bones, and a Smoking Ceremony to clear the air, literally and metaphorically.

So whether you're a local or just cruising through the coast, it's a chance to connect with Country and culture in a relaxed setting where early mornings aren't usually this inspiring. Plus, it's during the school holidays, so you might even get the kids out of bed without too much bribery.
